Most literature related to scuba diving
in Dominica's waters states that it's one of the best
dive locations in the world. Having had several opportunities for comparison, I agree. For me, the diving here
is really incredible; Most all reefs very accessible and are loaded with a huge variety of pristine
corals and marine life.
My
(then) 13 year old son, Alden, concluded his open-water scuba certification under the supervision of dive master, Izzy Madisetti. Izzy, who has lived on the island for many
years, provided solid, safe guidance and was extremely familiar with all the Dominica dive sites. He, his wife Liz and son, Dylan, made our underwater experiences very comfortable; we dove with them several times.
We also had the good fortune of being on Dominica during the islands' annual
Dive Fest. This
proved to be good timing as the Fest provided several opportunities along the coast including dives sponsored by
Sea Life Cameras
at incredibly reduced rates. The photos and video on
this page were taken with Sea Life cameras during a special promotional dive; cameras were provided to each diver that they might participate in a photo contest while test-driving the company's photography equipment.
